2. How do I search for recorded documents and surveys?

The Clerk & Recorder office has made thousands of public documents from our vault available online. ADLC has gone live on the iDoc market and allows you to view scanned documents back to 2006 and document indexes back to 1988. Additionally, our office is working to expand the scanned image inventory to 1999 within this fiscal year.

3. How Do I Get My Montana Birth Certificate?

If you were born in Deer Lodge County or the State of Montana, in most cases you should be able to go to ANY Montana courthouse and get a certified copy of your birth certificate.  If you are unable to personally go to the courthouse, fill out the Birth Certificate Request Form .  Return the form to the Clerk and Recorder’s office along with a photocopy of your state issued identification and a check for $8.00 per certified copy requested.

4. How Do I Get A Copy Of A Death Certificate?

5. What Are The Recording Fees?

When recording a document the cost is $7.00 per page.  An additional $10.00 will be added for non-conforming documents.   Filed documents are a flat $5.00 fee.
